Forward your voicemails to an email address

Learn how to send all your received voicemail messages as a text transcription to read, print, or save. Transcriptions will be sent as a text attachment.

Steps to get started

Turn on message transcription

  1. Go to the AT&T phone portal. Sign in with your member ID.
  2. Select Voicemail Settings.
  3. Choose Message settings, then Message Transcription and turn it ON.
  4. Select Save.

Forward a single voicemail

  1. Go to your Voicemail Inbox.
  2. Select the message you want to forward to email.
  3. Expand More options and select Forward to email.
  4. Follow the prompts to send the transcript.

Send all voicemail as a transcript

  1. Go to Voicemail Settings.
  2. Select Message settings, then Forward Messages to Email, and toggle it ON.
  3. Choose whether you want to keep your original voicemail message after forwarding from the drop-down.
  4. Enter the address to receive the forward message in Email.
  5. Select Include message management links in forwarded message. This allows you to perform actions such as deleting messages or marking them as read. When you get your first forwarded message, select one of these links (like Mark as Read) to completely activate this feature.
  6. Select Save.

Good to know: The accuracy of your transcription may be affected by the caller's pronunciation, background noise, or call quality. Short or unclear messages may not be transcribed.
